KOPI LUWAK GAYO ARABICA 

The Luwak is living wild and free in the highlands of the Gayo Mountains of North Sumatra, Indonesia.

The Luwak or Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus), also known as the Common Palm Civet or the Toddy Cat, is a cat-sized mammal in the family Viverridae native to South-east Asia and southern China who is the responsible of the fame of the Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee. Luwak is the Indonesian name given to the Asian Palm Civet. The major population of this animal habits the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesian Archipelago. “Civet” comes from the Arabic word “zabad”. Kopi Luwak Gayo is collected in the highlands of the Gayo Mountains on the beautiful island Sumatra.

The Asian palm civet is a small, mottled gray and black viverrid weighing 2 to 5kg. It has a body length of about 53cm with a 48cm long tail. Its long, stocky body is covered with coarse, shaggy hair that is usually greyish in color. There is a white mask across the forehead, a small white patch under each eye, a white spot on each side of the nostrils, and a narrow dark line between the eyes. The muzzle, ears, lower legs, and distal half of the tail are black, with three rows of black markings on the body.
